Geese Found Dead In Loveland Now Being Investigated

LOVELAND, Colo. (CBS4) – The U.S. Department of Fish and Wildlife are looking into what killed four geese in Loveland. City officials tell CBS4 four geese were found dead at Civic Center Foote Lagoon over the past several days. (credit: CBS) City officials say they are aware of rumors about the geese being poisoned, but say those details are unsubstantiated right now. Motorcyclist Traveling 140 mph Collides with Deer in Greeley

A 30-year-old man sustained multiple injuries over the weekend, after crashing his motorcycle into a deer, while traveling at a very high rate of speed in Greeley. According to the Greeley Tribune, at approximately 4:45 a.m. on Saturday (July 24), Greeley police responded to a collision in the 2800 block of U.S. 34. When officers arrived on the scene, they identified the motorcyclist involved in the accident as Devin Knudson.

Third Family Member and Victim of Poudre Canyon Flooding Identified

A week after the initial July 20 Black Hollow flood, the Larimer County Sherrif's Office has released the final update regarding the damage and victims. Fox31 reported on July 22 that the missing people were three family members. In an email, it was also confirmed by the Larimer County Sheriff's office that three people had been identified and one was still missing.

Longmont Attempted Murder Suspect Marshall Neil Aamodt Turns Himself In

LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4) – Attempted murder suspect Marshall Neil turned himself in on Wednesday afternoon in Longmont. Police say the 30-year-old is accused of threatening to kill a man with a knife before firing several pistol rounds at the victim’s vehicle. Marshall Neil Aamodt (credit: Longmont Police Department) The incident happened just before 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the 300 block of Mountain View Avenue. The victim drove away and was not hurt. It does not appear any homes were hit, according to police. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Aamodt for attempted first degree murder, felony menacing, reckless endangerment, and attempted illegal discharge of a firearm. UCHealth on Wednesday announced it will require all employees to get vaccinated against COVID-19 by Oct. 1. “I’m very excited to say that we will be mandating the COVID-19 vaccination for everyone who basically walks in our building,” said Dr. Michelle Barron, senior medical director of infection prevention and control for UCHealth, during a Zoom meeting Wednesday. “We’ve done this with a lot of thought, (and) we have previously mandated the influenza vaccination.”

All Poudre Canyon Flooding searches called off

All search operations in the Poudre Canyon following the Black Hollow flood on July 20, 2021, have been suspended until further leads about the missing adult female are received. She is identified as Diana Brown, 57, of Texas. She was known to be with the other three victims of the flood, previously identified by the Larimer County Coroner’s Office.

Colorado experienced the worst recorded wildfires last year, and two massive fires burned uncomfortably close to Estes Park. Wildfire is an increasingly common part of life in the West. The Town and its emergency response partners train for disasters like these so we can constantly be ready. We train for response, recovery, preparation and mitigation. You, as community members, do this too, as you work to mitigate fuels on your property and plan for evacuations. An important step is the debrief and after-action review. It helps us improve for next time, because unfortunately, there will be a next time.
