Illinois State Police Investigate Homicide In East St. Louis

EAST ST. LOUIS - The Illinois State Police reported today two men have been charged in a case where a man died in East St. Louis after a home invasion. On Monday, August 2, 2021, the Office of St. Clair County State’s Attorney James Gomric charged Joseph L. Binford of East St. Louis, with First-Degree Murder and Home Invasion and Demonte M. Moore of East St. Louis, with Home Invasion that resulted in the death of Dwonique S. Seay.

Two charged in East St. Louis home invasion, homicide

EAST ST. LOUIS ( - Two men are facing charges in connection with a home invasion and homicide that occurred in East St. Louis Saturday morning. Joseph Binford, 40, and Demonte Moore, 26, both of East of St. Louis, are charged with home invasion. Binford is also charged with first-degree. murder. The two are accused of breaking into a home of Dwonique Seay, 44, on 15th Street. Police say Binford stabbed Seay, who later died at a hospital.

After 2 years on the run, FBI captures alleged St. Louis County bank robber

ST. LOUIS ( – The FBI St. Louis Division apprehended a St. Louis County man wanted for allegedly robbing two St. Louis area banks in 2019. Ricardo L. Rusan, 55, was nabbed in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, officials announced Friday. Rusan allegedly robbed a Commerce Bank in Clayton on April 16, 2019 and a Bank of America in St. Peters on April 18, 2019. In both instances he wore a blue mask and had a handgun, according to the FBI.

Homicide Reported In North County Precinct Of St. Louis County

ST. LOUIS COUNTY - At 8:01 a.m. on July 31, 2021, St. Louis County Police officers from the North County Precinct responded to the 2100 block of Old Manor Road for a call for service for a shooting. Responding officers located an adult female victim suffering from at least one apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased. Two shot in Granite City

GRANITE CITY — Police are investigating two gunshot victims found early Monday morning. At about 2 a.m., officers responded to Illinois 3 for a report of gunshots, according to Granitge City Police. Upon the arrival of officers two people were found with multiple gunshot wounds and were immediately transported to a hospital in St. Louis.

Major Nick Novaich, assistant chief of police of the Granite City Police Department, said: "Upon the arrival officers found that two individuals had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were immediately transported to a hospital in St. Louis, MO. The Granite City Police Department has requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis to aid in this investigation. The identity of the injured parties will not be released at this time and no suspect(s) are currently in custody."
