Police Investigating Fatal Shooting In Jersey City

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — Police are investigating a deadly shooting in New Jersey. It happened around 11 a.m. Saturday on Grant Avenue and Martin Luther King Drive in Jersey City. Police responded to a call for shots fired in the area and found a man with gunshot wounds to his upper body. The victim, identified as 26-year-old Raquan Bass, later died at a local hospital. 26 Year-Old-Man Gunned Down in Greenville

A 26-year-old man was shot and killed this morning near Grant Avenue and Martin Luther King Drive. According to The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 94 Grant Avenue. Upon arrival they found the victim – later identified as Raquan Bass – with gunshot wounds to his upper body. Bass was taken to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 11:15 a.m.

Paterson man wounded in North Main Street shooting

A city man was wounded in a shooting on North Main Street early Sunday morning, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office. The victim, 34-year-old, was shot on North Main Street and Haledon Avenue at around 1:30 a.m. He arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center via private vehicle seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound, authorities said.

MANCHESTER – A 49-year-old man had to be airlifted to a shore area trauma center after his vehicle ran off the road and crashed into a tree. Manchester Township Police confirmed Daniel Amble of Allentown, New Jersey, was driving eastbound on Pasadena Road near Buckingham Road on July 23 when his Jeep left the roadway, veered onto the shoulder before crashing into brush and striking a large tree.

FDNY frees child whose head got stuck in iron gate on Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — FDNY units responded Friday evening to reports that a child got their head stuck in an iron gate in Sea View, according to an FDNY spokesman. At approximately 5:33 p.m., emergency personal arrived at 501 Brielle Ave., where they rendered aid to a young child whose head was wedged between the vertical bars of a gate, the spokesman said. The Greenbelt Recreation Center is located at that address.
