Four New COVID-19 Cases Reported Locally

Four more people in the tri-county area tested positive with COVID-19, according to Friday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health. Two people in Marshall County were recently diagnosed with COVID-19, along with one person in Starke County and one person in Pulaski County. They are among 218 new cases reported in the state Friday.

Newly-Appointed Marshall County Judge Discusses Staffing with County Council

Matt Sarber discussed staffing the third Marshall County Superior Court and progress thus far in the new court with the Marshall County Council Monday morning. Sarber was recently appointed judge of the third Marshall County Superior Court by Governor Eric Holcomb. He will officially take the bench July 1. Until that time, he asked the council to extend pay to court staff, such as court reporter, court baliff and court administrator prior to July 1 so training can occur.

Marshall County Public Health Nurse Requests Permission to Apply for Grants

Marshall County Public Health Nurse Lisa Letsinger asked the Marshall County Council members Monday morning for permission to apply for a few different grants. Letsinger explained that the county received a grant without an application that was divided among all counties in the state based on population. She said over the course of 3.5 years the county will receive $223,792.

Plymouth Man Arrested on Several Charges Following Call to Police

A Plymouth man was arrested shortly after 2 a.m. ET Wednesday after Plymouth Police Department officers received a call about a man reportedly opening car doors. Officers arrived at the scene in the Berkley Square Trailer Court and talked with a witness who reportedly said the suspect was an African American man with a gray hoodie and a larger build. At the time, he was last seen running east through the park.

Littering, Illegal Dumping Not Tolerated at Marshall County’s Parks Systems

The Marshall County Parks and Recreation Board members will not tolerate littering or illegal dumping at Memorial Forest or at any of the county’s park systems.
