Flora man formally charged in connection with high-speed chase through Salem

A 33-year-old Flora man had a bond set at $10,000 on charges brought against him in connection with a high-speed chase through Salem early Friday morning. Cecorrey Finkley of 12th Street was charged with felony aggravated fleeing and eluding police for traveling at speeds greater than 21 miles per hour when he was fleeing Iuka Police. He was also charged with driving on a suspended license, reckless driving, and speeding more than 35 miles per hour over the speed limit.

A 35-year-old Salem man has been arrested for burglary. Anthony Hardin Junior of North Howard Street was arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies. A 28-year-old Odin man was arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies for violation of the sex offender registry. Roy Cochran of Franklin Avenue was taken to the Marion County Jail.

Flora man leads police on high speed chase through Salem onto I-57

A 33-year-old Flora man led Iuka Police and Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies on a high speed chase early Friday morning. The Marion County Sheriff’s Department reports the chase began after Cecorrey Finkley was clocked doing 80 miles per hour on U.S. 50 near the Bannister Road east of Salem. Finkley reportedly fled, traveling through Salem at speeds of up to 90 miles per hour before going north on I-57. Nine miles north of Salem Finkley gave up and stopped. The sheriff’s department says he was taken into custody for aggravated fleeing and eluding police and driving on a suspended license without incident.

SALEM, IL — A Marion County jury found a 31-year-old Centralia man guilty last week of delivery of narcotics. The jury deliberated for only 30 minutes before finding Donald Hemmings guilty of delivering less than a gram of fentanyl in July 2020. According to Centralia police, Hemmings was arrested during a traffic stop July 6, 2020 after they witnessed him conduct a drug sale in plain view. Centralia man found guilty of drug trafficking charge

A Marion County Jury deliberated just a half-hour before finding a 31-year-old Centralia man guilty of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. Donald Hemmings of Wabash Avenue had been charged with delivering less than a gram of fentanyl on July 6th, 2020 by Centralia Police.
