Man in Niagara, WI barricades himself in residence, refuses to surrender

NIAGARA, Wis. (WFRV) – Law enforcement in Marinette County tried to bring in a suspect for multiple felony charges after he barricaded himself inside his residence. According to the Niagara Police Department, on August 8 around 8 p.m., officers tried to apprehend a man at his residence for multiple felony charges. The man’s residence was in the 1800 block of River Street.

Randy Miller wins Marinette County Sheriff's race

MARINETTE — With unofficial vote totals in from Tuesday's primary election, Randy Miller has defeated Chris Lesperance in the race for Marinette County Sheriff. Miller received 5,398 votes (76%) to 1,696 (24%) for Lesperance. Miller is a sergeant with the sheriff's department and Lesperance is a lieutenant. Incumbent Jerry Sauve did not run for re-election. In the battle for Marinette County Clerk of Circuit Court, Carrie Brazeau defeated Jessica Olson, 4,157 votes to 2,509. Brazeau garnered 62% of the vote. Both women work in the clerk of court office.
