(ATLANTA, Ga.) Atlanta voters are set to cast their ballots for the city’s next mayor on Tuesday morning. Candidates Felicia Moore and Andre Dickens both advanced through the general election on Nov. 2 – Moore received 41% of the vote followed by Dickens with 23%. After a series of debates, campaigning and town halls, the two are on the ballot to become the 61st mayor of Atlanta.

Celebrate the festival of Chanukah at these family-friendly events around Atlanta. Chanukah, the Jewish Festival of Lights, is a family oriented holiday. In some homes children receive gelt (money, real or chocolate) or presents and sometimes both. The game of dreidel is played, a betting game played with the special top that has Hebrew letters printed on each of it's four sides, and foods cooked or fried in oil such as latkes (potato pancakes) and sufganiot (jelly donuts) are served.

Atlanta City Council's new initiative to reduce jail time

(ATLANTA, Ga.) The City of Atlanta partnered with Fulton County officials to reduce jail time for nonviolent offenders. This new partnership is a direct response to law enforcement interacting with individuals who are experiencing homelessness, mental health issues and substance abuse. Law enforcement officials will be provided with additional options to address residents who commit misdemeanor crimes and are in need of resources and professional help.

This past Wednesday, November 17th, Alpharetta FBLA officers and select members travelled to Athens, Georgia as invitees to the 2021 Georgia FBLA Fall Leadership Conference. Emma Kyle and a passion for volleyball

Emma Kyle, number 8, is a senior at MPC in Kennesaw, Ga. She is a starter on the volleyball team which just won its second state championship. Emma will tell you that a state championship does not come easily. It requires commitment, determination, mental focus, and hard work from the players. Emma Kyle is a perfect example of what that recipe can produce.
