CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — A Champaign man will spend over 24 years in prison for drug and gun possession. In a news release, U.S. Department of Justice officials said 41-year-old Quintez Turner was sentenced for drug-trafficking, possessing heroin with intent to distribute and possessing a gun as a convicted felon.

Convicted felon from Champaign sentenced for drug, firearm possession

URBANA, Ill. (WAND) -A convicted felon found to possess a firearm and drugs has been sentenced to prison. Quintez Turner, 41, was found by U.S. District Court Judge Colin S. Bruce to have an extensive criminal history that appropriately led to him being classified as a career offender. He was charged with possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking offense, possessing heroin with intent to distribute and possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

URBANA, Ill. (WAND) - A man who had a knife when robbing a Champaign grocery store has been sentenced to prison. On Tuesday, 55-year-old Terry Deeley, who police said was homeless and lived in Champaign, pleaded guilty to a charge of armed robbery and was sentenced to nine years behind bars.
