Two teens identified in Grayson parking lot shooting

GRAYSON — Gwinnett County Police have released the names of the two teenage boys involved in a parking lot shooting in Grayson Monday night. According to police, 17-year-old Orbit Pough was found dead from a gunshot wound when officers arrived and 17-year-old Jaiden Williams was shot and taken to a local hospital.

Escaped Kentucky inmate arrested in Henry County, deputies say

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. - The Henry County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday deputies arrested an inmate who escaped from a Lousiville, Kentucky, jail. Police in Louisville gave the sheriff's office information that Terrell Q. Gray was hiding at a home in the Herny County area after he escaped from Louisville Metro Department of Corrections on July 9.

BREAKING: 2nd set of remains found in Stockbridge are Locust Grove woman, coroner says

Henry County officials have identified the second set of remains found in the woods near a Stockbridge shopping center July 20. The remains belonged to 18-year-old Conteshia McCoy of Locust Grove, the Henry County Coroner’s Office confirmed to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Her body was found at the same time as DeKalb County woman Mirsha Victor, 23, who was killed nearly two weeks before the discovery of the remains.

A day after the Clarke County School District said masks would be mandatory for all people on all campuses when the new school year begins on August 4, school officials in Monroe said masks would be optional in schools in Walton County. Schools weigh options over mask mandates after CDC changes guidance

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — Georgia's COVID-19 numbers are creeping up once again. On Tuesday, the average positivity rate hit 8.9%, which is up 2% from just one month ago. Public health officials want that number to stay below 5% to slow the spread of the virus. Those numbers made the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend all students and staff wear masks in schools, regardless of vaccination status.

Vendor fatally shoots another at Henry County flea market, police say

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. - The Henry County Police Department said one vendor at a McDonough flea market shot and killed another vendor during an argument on Sunday. Police said 39-year-old Larry Favors Jr. from Covington is accused of killing 54-year-old Oliver Williams, of McDonough, Sunday afternoon at Peachtree Peddler's Flea Market & Antique Centre in McDonough.
