This past April, 7-year-old Zoey Hanson and her family presented Jefferson Elementary School in New Ulm with a large donation of pop can tabs. The school conducted a Pop Tab Drive for donations to go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. This non-profit organazation recycles tabs and collects money to fund various programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children. Three years ago when Zoey was in the hospital, the Ronald McDonald House provided meals for the family during their hospital stay. The Hanson family felt this was a way to say thank you to those who helped them during a difficult time. Zoey and her family donated a 20 gallon container that was over half-way filled with pop tabs.
