Ms. Sitz was born in Pelham, TN, to her late parents Charles Sitz and Ovie Marie Nunley Sitz. She worked as Operations Manager for Mid-State Communications for 30 years in Manchester, TN. Ms. Sitz was an avid UT Vols fan. She was very close to her nieces and nephews and helped raise many folks.

Franklin Co. Prevention Coalition Teaching L.E.A.D. as Part of Bridge Program beginning Oct. 1

Starting October 1, Law Enforcement Against Drugs & Violence (L.E.A.D.) will be taught as part of the Bridge Program, an after-school program at the Franklin County Prevention Coalition. Archie Custer and Paula Rhodes, the Bridge Facilitator and Bridge Program Coordinators, respectively, will teach the program to students at the elementary, middle and high school levels.

Unemployment rate drops in Coffee County

Coffee County’s unemployment rate during August was 3.4% – which is 0.5% lower than the previous month. The jobless rate in August 2021 was 3.9%. Every county in Tennessee experienced lower unemployment rates in August, according to new data released by the Department of Labor and Workforce Development. For the month, 89 counties recorded rates below 5%, while the remaining six counties came in with rates higher than 5%, but less than 10%.
