City of Thayer approves to lease-purchase River Country

It was a packed house for the monthly Thayer Council meeting during which council addressed the topic of lease-purchasing the old River Country building. Thayer Mayor Kenneth Cotham welcomed all in attendance stating it was awesome to have the interest in city business and wished there was as many to attend every month. “We appreciate the input and what you guys have to say,” said Cotham.

Two Vehicle crash in Pomona Friday afternoon

West Plains, MO –A two-vehicle crash in Pomona sent a Cabool man to the hospital. The accident occurred at 12:20 p.m. on Highway 63 in Pomona when a 1998 GMC Yukon driven by Angela Segelhorst, 50 of Pomona, pulled into the path of a 2006 Toyota Tacoma driven by Michael Randle, 72 of Cabool. Linda Doris (Chapin) Cunningham, 82, of Salem, Ark., passed from this life on Friday, Sept. 17, 2021, in Salem, Ark. Linda was born April 12, 1939, in Manila, Ark. Linda was united in marriage to Thomas Gerald Cunningham on Dec. 22, 1953 in Camp, Ark. and to this union five children were born. Linda spent her working years as a CNA at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem. She loved being with her family, having family get togethers, camping, fishing, and was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, aunt and friend.
