Transit authority proposal offers promising concept

It was good to see the recent articles describing the new effort to address an old problem: lack of public transit in Emmet County. This new approach would create an Emmet Transit Authority (ETA) which will operate independently, but with the involvement of the Emmet County Board of Commissioners. Like successful transit agencies in other rural counties, an ETA will have the broad involvement and support of stakeholders throughout the county who can focus on how best to provide transit services.
