BBQ Fundraiser in Lugoff On October 1st

Lugoff 411 Masonic Lodge on Masonic Drive in Lugoff hosts their annual Barbeque Sale from 10am-2pm on Saturday October 1st. Chicken Leg Quarters or BBQ Pork, baked beans, coleslaw and banana pudding for $10. BBQ will also be sold by the pound.

Another earthquake confirmed in South Carolina

ELGIN, SC (FOX CAROLINA) - The United States Geological Survey (USGS) confirmed another earthquake hit the Midlands on Thursday. The USGS said the 1.4-magnitude earthquake struck about four miles southeast of Elgin at around 11:52 a.m. Since December, there have been more than 80 earthquakes recorded in South Carolina. El Bethel Hosts Fall Bazaar October 1st

El-Bethel Faith Community Church’s Fall Bazaar, sponsored by the Ladies Ministry, will be held on Saturday, October 1st, from 8am until 2pm, at El-Bethel Faith Community Church, 905 Longtown Rd., Lugoff. The Bazaar will once again host the popular “Indoor yard sale”, which includes many gently used and new items for the home, as well as outdoor items. In addition, vendors will be selling wonderful gift items such as beautiful wreaths, arts and crafts, jewelry, Christmas items, collectibles, and many other items. Delicious homemade baked goods will also be sold. There will be biscuits for breakfast, with your choice of meat, and BBQ plates for lunch. Another Aftershock Just Shook SC – Totaling 79 Quakes Since Christmas

Another aftershock rattled the Elgin area of South Carolina last night at 12:52 am, bringing the total number of quakes and aftershocks to 79 since Christmas. The rumbling of the Palmetto State started when a significant 3.3 magnitude earthquake struck Elgin, South Carolina (about 50 miles south of Charlotte) the day after Christmas, followed quickly by 2.5, 2.1, and 1.7 magnitude aftershocks.

On Wednesday, September 21st, Jessica Berry, Prevention Specialist from The Alpha Center, spoke with CLC students, faculty, and staff about substance prevention and abuse, mental health, and physical activity. Her presentation was part of CLC’s “We G.R.O.W. By Saying No” Substance Abuse prevention project funded by The Health Services District of Kershaw County grant CLC received. The Alpha Center and The Camden Police Dept. will partner with us throughout the school year for this project.
