Desert Run returns for 42nd year – off road fun for all ages

The Morongo Basin Search and Rescue is putting on the 42nd annual Desert Run on Saturday October 1st. The Desert Run is a family event that takes place around the Means dry lake in Johnson Valley – but it’s not a race so you can bring out all types of off-road vehicles to explore the wide open desert on a small, friendly, local level. The off-road course will be at least 20 miles long, with 5 stops along that way where you can play games and win prizes.

Fire Crews Extinguish A Jeep Fire On Southbound I-15

APPLE VALLEY, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A Jeep caught fire on southbound Interstate 15 jammed the Sunday afternoon commute. California Highway Patrol and Apple Valley Fire Department were getting calls of a black Jeep Grand Cherokee on fire. The vehicle was located on southbound I-15 about a mile before the Stoddard Wells Road/Bell Mountain Rd. exit, at about 1:25pm on Sunday September 25, 2022.

3 Vehicle Crash Causes Traffic Backup On SB I-15 Near Main Street

HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A three-vehicle crash caused some traffic troubles along Interstate 15 Sunday morning. California Highway Patrol, Victorville Fire Department, and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic collision involving a gray Honda Civic with front end damage, a silver BMW X5 SUV with front and rear damage. The third vehicle was a Maroon Chevrolet Tahoe. The crash took place about 12:33pm September 25, 2022 on southbound I-15 just before the Main Street exit.

Inland Empire COVID-19 Update: 9/23/22

Yucaipa still opposes marijuana

Yucaipa has opposed medical marijuana and dispensaries within city limits since it became legal in the state. On Sept. 12, City Manager Ray Casey informed the Yucaipa City Councilmembers of Senate Bill 1186, the Medicinal Cannabis Patients’ Right of Access Act. Council opposed the senate bill, primarily due to it being a way the state of California is trying to remove local control from cities. The letter of opposition for the bill passed unanimously with Mayor Pro Tem Justin Beaver absent.

Warehouses have sprouted in the open spaces of Riverside and San Bernardino counties like the orange groves and crops they’ve since replaced.
