Multiple people rescued after boat overturns in Nahant

NAHANT – Multiple people were rescued Thursday morning when a small boat overturned in Nahant. At least two people were on the boat when it flipped.SkyEye was over the scene as crews helped pull one man ashore.A woman also made it to shore on her own.Both people were seen wearing life jackets. No further information is currently available.

5 People Rescued After Small Boat Capsizes Off Coast of Lynn

Five people had to be rescued from the water after their small boat capsized off the coast of Lynn, Massachusetts on Thursday morning. The boaters were rescued after the Lynn Fire Department, Lynn Harbormaster as well as a private boat all stepped in to help, according to Lynn Fire Chief Stephen Archer. One person was taken to the hospital, and everyone is excepted to be okay.

Five people rescued from capsized boat in Lynn

LYNN, MASS. (WHDH) - Five people were rescued after their boat overturned in Lynn Harbor Wednesday morning. Rescue crews retrieved all five passengers, four men and one woman, who were all wearing life vests after the small boat described as a 10-foot dinghy capsized into Lynn Harbor around 10:30 a.m. The five passengers were then wrapped in blankets to warm up and brought ashore. One of the five passengers, an elderly man, was taken to the hospital to be treated for hypothermia. Officials said the Lynn Harbormaster then towed the small boat.

(AP) — The boyfriend of a slain 5-year-old boy’s mother was sentenced in New Hampshire on Thursday to 22 to 45 years in prison for manslaughter and other charges that he pleaded guilty to, nearly a year after the child’s body was found in a Massachusetts park. Joseph Stapf, 31, had filed an intent to plead guilty earlier this month. He also admitted to second-degree assault, falsifying physical evidence and witness tampering in connection with Elijah Lewis’ death. The child was discovered missing and found dead last October. An autopsy showed he suffered facial and scalp injuries, acute fentanyl intoxication, malnourishment and pressure ulcers. “I never wanted any of this to happen to Elijah,” Stapf said in court as he broke into tears. “I wish I could go back and change everything.”

On Thursday, Sept. 22, police in Beverly, Mass., local animal control, and Mystic Aquarium officials attempted to remove Shoebert the seal from a pond, though the attempts were unsuccessful. But the following day, Shoebert turned himself in to local police. He was then captured by Mystic Aquarium, and eventually, he was relocated.

Mother's boyfriend pleads guilty in 5-year-old Elijah Lewis' death

NASHUA, N.H. – A New Hampshire man has been sentenced to up to 45 years in prison in the death of 5-year-old Elijah Lewis.Joseph Stapf pleaded guilty to several charges on Thursday, including manslaughter. He is facing a sentence of 22-45 years in prison.Lewis was missing and later found dead in Abington, Massachusetts, last October. An autopsy showed he suffered facial and scalp injuries, acute fentanyl intoxication, malnourishment and pressure ulcers. Stapf was dating Elijah's mother, Danielle Dauphinais, who is awaiting trial on a murder charge.Timothy Lewis, Elijah's biological father, gave a victim impact statement in court."You could have stepped up to stop this at any point if you had been man enough," he said. Stapf himself spoke in court as well on Thursday, saying he "never wanted any of this to happen to Elijah.""I loved that boy. I did," Stapf said. "I'm so sorry. I wish I could take it back."

A man jumped into the Charles to retrieve his lost phone. He found 11—but not his.

Some of the rescued phones still turn on, and the finders are working to find the owners. What started as a simple paddleboarding date on the Charles River ended up with John Anastos getting up close and personal with the muck, gunk, and surprising number of phones at the bottom of the river. All in all, in a bid to rescue his phone, Anastos recovered 11 phones, none of which belonged to him.
