JD Shelburne to perform free concert in the Ravine on Sept. 25

J.D. Shelburne will perform a free concert in the Ravine this Saturday, Sept. 25, after Eastern Kentucky University’s football game vs. Austin Peay. Shelburne is a Taylorsville, KY native country music singer. Shelburne recently released an album titled “Straight from Kentucky,” which made it into the iTunes country top ten. He has also opened for ZZ Top. The concert will not require tickets, and there will be food trucks available near the Ravine. Parking for the concert will be available in the Lancaster and Alumni lots.

Mudvayne, Incubus Drop Off Festivals Due to COVID Cases

Mudvayne and Incubus both announced on Tuesday (Sept. 21) that they were dropping off the lineups of upcoming festivals due to COVID cases in their camps. In the case of make-up metalers Mudvayne, it was after singer Chad Gray and some others in their crew tested positive for COVID-19, forcing the band to bail on their appearance at this weekend's Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky.

Kinsey Rose, 35, a Louisville native, has secured a spot on The Voice. She will be singing with Team Kelly. Team Kelly is led by former American Idol singer Kelly Clarkson. The Voice is in its 21st season and Rose performed The Chicks’ “Cowboy Take Me Away” to secure her spot. It was nearly a contest for her between the country artists on the Voice, Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton, but Clarkson used a block against Shelton and secured Rose for her team.
