Packing purses to help ladies in Louisiana

Ladies in the Bible Study class at First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs are helping out those impacted by Hurricane Ida by adding a little flair. Instead of your usual care packages filled with water, can goods, and house hold products, the ladies decided to pack purses filled with goodies such as lip balm, gum, hand held planners, notepads, pens, hand wipes, and mini-Bibles.

GIVING BACK: More Help coming for Louisiana from Ft. Bend County Judge and Assistance Ministries W. Houston

HOUSTON, Texas (KIAH) West Houston Assistance Ministries (WHAM) and Fort Bend County Judge KP George are joining forces to distribute food and supplies to victims of Hurricane Ida in Houston, and families in need. This special drive-thru food distribution will take place on Saturday, September 25 from 9 am – 12 noon at WHAM headquarters located at 10501 Meadowglen Lane in Houston. Food and supplies will be distributed to approximately 300 cars on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.

A benefit concert will be held in November to raise money for hurricane relief efforts in Louisiana after Ida. Ragin Country Crawl, sponsored by CMR Construction & Roofing, will feature headliner Lee Brice, ACM and CMA Award-nominated artist Randy Houser, country rapper Colt Ford, and popular country disc jockey Dee Jay Silver during the one-night event at the Cajundome. Tarp Donation Drive for Louisiana Hurricane Victims

FHP Troopers are teaming with the Sickles High School ROTC Unit to collect tarps for Hurricane Ida victims in Louisiana, many of whom are still without power and with damaged homes.
