Canton Man, Woman Killed in Fiery I-71 Crash

MANSFIELD, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – A young man and woman with Canton addresses are dead in a fiery crash along I-71 near Mansfield Saturday night. The state patrol says 25-year-old Evan Friend and 18-year-old Allison McCort died when their Jeep went from the northbound lanes to the southbound side of the road.

Fire Damages ProVia Office Space

Sunday there was a small fire in the front office area at ProVia’s Walnut Creek Facility. The company released a statement noting that the blaze had set off the fire alarms which deployed several local fire departments, but the fire was not sizeable enough to set off the sprinklers, and the emergency crews were able to quickly put out the fire using fire extinguishers.

Wooster man shot and killed, man from Orrville now under arrest

Authorities in Wooster continue to investigate a fatal shooting that occurred late Friday afternoon on East Larwill Street. 28-year old Blair Snyder was shot in the chest, shortly before six o’clock, following an argument with a man from Orrville. Snyder was taken to Wooster Community Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The suspect, 19-year old Dylan Pelfrey, fled the scene, but was later arrested in Orrville and is now being held in the Wayne County Jail. Investigators, who are still trying to put all the pieces together, say both men had guns.

Rose Cobb was traveling south in the Southside Diner parking lot. A vehicle owned by Delores A. Zeller was parked facing west in a marked parking space. Cobb attempted to turn eastbound into the parking space next to Zeller’s vehicle and struck it in the right side. Cobb was cited for failure to control.
