Workforce Solutions East Texas to host Longview hiring event with 50 employer booths July 29

Workforce Solutions East Texas will host an in-person hiring event in Longview on July 29, partnered with approximately 50 employers. For the last fourteen months, WSET hiring events have been held virtually using an online video and chat platform. This month, in-person hiring events have been resumed, with the first being held in Tyler last week with over 100 attendees.

Dogs set to take over Maude Cobb this weekend

Dogs of all shapes, sizes and breeds will descend upon Longview this weekend for two tail-wagging events. The Longview Kennel Club’s 2021 AKC Licensed All Breed Dog Show kicks off at 8 a.m. Friday at Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Center, where dogs will compete for Best of Breed in the All Breed Dog Conformation Show for the canine that most closely matches the standard for each breed exhibited.

Some stupid people enjoy a perverse thrill of seeing roosters fight to the death and people even gamble on the outcomes. They are engaging in an illegal activity of cockfighting but also making the birds vulnerable to a highly infectious disease: infectious laryngotracheitis, a highly contagious respiratory disease found in poultry.
