Warren Buffett Goes to Hilton Head

Read the letter Buffett wrote to his 'Hilton Head Group' In late September 1975, Buffett hosted the Graham Group in Hilton Head where a few notable events occurred. Hilton Head was the first of these gatherings that included Kay Graham, CEO of the Washington Post, and the first female CEO of a Fortune 500 company. It was also the first gathering that his wife, Suzie Buffett, sang to the group after which she sang publicly, including annual Berkshire shareholder meetings. Perhaps most notably, it was immediately following this Hilton Head meeting that the Washington Post press operators union held an infamous strike, lighting the presses on fire in the basement of The Post. Fortunately, the strike happened after the Hilton Head meeting as there were no direct flights to Washington from the island, much less an airport, for Ms. Graham to return.

Before & After: Two Hilton Head houses become one

Stunning renovation turns drab into fab for a Sea Pines couple. In a move that you don’t see regularly in architecture and rarely done on Hilton Head Island, this home in Sea Pines was previously two homes on two separate lots that were then combined. Group 3 Designs was then hired to reconfigure the layout to make it more functional for living and entertaining and so that the space flowed more naturally. The energetic and vibrant couple wanted a home that matched their personalities. Their love of bright colors and patterns came through in the interior design. Plenty of thought went into making sure the home was great for entertaining, too.

Celebrity Connection: Back to Abnormal with Trevor Noah

“I feel like there should be a rule in America [where] you can hate immigrants all you want; but if you do, you don’t get to eat their food. No Dominican food, no Asian food, nothing. Only potatoes.” It’s the kind of thought-provoking and irreverent barb you’d expect to hear from stand-up comedian Trevor Noah, the host of the Emmy-award winning “The Daily Show” on Comedy Central. Immigration is just one of myriad political and social topics to be explored and exploited at Noah’s “Back To Abnormal Tour,” that’s circling the globe.

Design tips that aren't 'all white and natural'

Across the spectrum of visible light, there are, of course, the classic seven ROYGBIV; but it’s the spaces in between those tones that create a nearly infinite array of colors. Given the unimaginable vastness of shades, tints and hues from which to work, why then are homes so often limited to white and taupe?
