Joint investigation nets 52 pounds of marijuana, $75K in cash

A joint investigation into a local drug ring netted thousands of dollars in cash and more than 50 pounds in illegal narcotics, authorities announced. Narcotics detectives with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office partnered with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration in a months-long investigation into the distribution of illegal narcotics in the Springfield area of Livingston Parish.

Woman allegedly cashed fraudulent checks while wearing boyfriend's police uniform

BATON ROUGE - A woman was booked into jail after she allegedly cashed stolen checks she got from her friend while dressed in her boyfriend's Baton Rouge Police uniform. Arrest records said Jessika Dixon, 24, cashed a pair of fraudulent checks totaling $1,435 at a convenience store along Lobdell Boulevard. Police said Dixon got those checks from a friend, 43-year-old Anisha Forbes, who is suspected of stealing them in Livingston Parish.

Three men were arrested and more than 50 pounds of marijuana was seized in a multi-agency investigation into illegal narcotics distribution in Livingston Parish. Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics detectives, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration led the investigation into the Springfield area of Livingston Parish.

More than 1.5 million Louisiana residents fully vaccinated, data shows

More than 1.5 million Louisiana residents have been fully-vaccinated against the novel coronavirus, the last report from the Louisiana Department of Health shows. According to the most recent data, the number of administered vaccine doses reached 3,095,453, an increase of 33,361 from the previous report. The state is also reporting that 1,516,551 residents have been fully-vaccinated, a rise of 19,606.
