Hit music spreads to south Lincoln County

◆ Swift 98 will soon be heard in Kemmerer community. The purchase of KMER Radio in Kemmerer a few years ago gave SVI Media the ability to cover all of Lincoln County on one radio station. That radio station being The Spur, a country format heard on various FM and AM frequencies countywide.

Commissioners seek change in power line route

AFTON (WNE) — Lincoln County Commissioner Robert King says the commission is working to get the Gateway West Transmission Line to move south of Cokeville. Rocky Mountain Power and Idaho Power has proposed this project which will build 1,000 miles of new high-voltage transmission lines between the Windstar substation near Glenrock, Wyoming and the Hemingway substation near Melba, Idaho.

Lincoln County Commissioner Robert King says it is working to get the Gateway West Transmission Line to move south of Cokeville. Rocky Mountain Power and Idaho Power has proposed this project which will build 1,000 miles of new high-voltage transmission lines between the Windstar substation near Glenrock, Wyoming and the Hemingway substation near Melba, Idaho. The current plan is to have it pass through north of Cokeville and King says that will create some problems.

KEMMERER — It was a night to remember! COVID has affected a whole lot of things. The Kemmerer Rangers decided if there was any way to pull off a prom, they were going to do it — and they made it happen. Prom was held at the South Lincoln Events Center on Saturday, April 24. A masquerade ball was planned and decorations were fancy masquerade masks and gold and silver streamers. Attendees were each given a face mask — another to add to the year-long collection of face coverings — with a glittery “Prom 2021” on the front.

COVID-19 cases below 500 in Wyoming, Lincoln below 30

The number of active coronavirus cases in Wyoming fell by 50 in the last week, according to Wyoming Department of Health figures. As of 3 p.m. Monday, March 22, the number of laboratory-confirmed coronavirus cases seen since the disease was first diagnosed in the state in mid-March stood at 47,181, an increase of 335 cases over the 46,846 reported on March 15.
