Lincoln County Veterans Service Office to close July 17-22

MERRILL – The Lincoln County Veterans Service Office, 801 N. Sales St., Merrill, will be closed from Sunday, July 17 through Friday, July 22 to allow Veterans Service Officer John Olson and Deputy Veterans Service Officer Tiffany Daigle to complete accreditation training with the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs.

Summer North Woods Art Tour set for July 22, 23, 24

Art studios in the Northwoods will open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 22, 23 and 24 for the annual Summer North Woods Art Tour. The free, self-guided tour is organized into 37 unique studios along the backroads of Iron, Vilas, Oneida and Lincoln counties. Visitors are invited to travel through charming small communities and visit the seldom-open-to-the-public private workspaces of selected artists, who will be demonstrating in their studios.

Several injured, one arrested in UTV crash

An Illinois man is facing charges after a UTV crash that left several people injured, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department. The crash was reported June 30 on County Hwy. B in the town of Harrison. One person was reportedly trapped underneath the UTV, according to initial reports.

A Tomahawk man is facing charges related to thefts, burglaries and drug activity. According to a release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Zachary Huston, 38, was arrested on Thursday, June 16 following the execution of a search warrant by the Sheriff’s Office, the Central Wisconsin Narcotics Task Force, the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office and the Tomahawk Police Department in the Town of Bradley.

Merrill man sentenced to 16-plus years in federal prison for producing child pornography

MADISON – A Merrill man this week received a federal prison sentence for producing child pornography. Timothy M. O’Shea, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced on Wednesday, June 29 that Jason D. Ridolfi, 42, of Merrill, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge William M. Conley to 16 ½ years in prison for using a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing child pornography.

MERRILL, Wis. (WSAW) - A 32-year-old man is in the Lincoln Count Jail following a high-speed chase. Investigators said on Sunday, a Merrill Police Officer attempted to make contact with a vehicle for a registration violation. When the officer tried to stop the vehicle the driver ran and then got back into his vehicle and took off. The pursuit continued from the Merrill city limits into the town of Pine River.

Merrill man crashes during police pursuit

TOWN OF PINE RIVER - A police pursuit on Sunday ended with a Merrill man in custody. According to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, the incident began with a traffic stop for a registration violation initiated by Merrill Police.
