Project description: Crews will remove the existing asphalt surface and crushed concrete and then replace them with base materials and asphalt pavement; complete minor grading at median crossovers for traffic control; repave maintenance crossovers and interchange ramps; and add additional guardrail on northbound US 51 at WIS 64.

MERRILL – The Lincoln County Veterans Service Office, 801 N. Sales St., Merrill, will be closed from Sunday, July 17 through Friday, July 22 to allow Veterans Service Officer John Olson and Deputy Veterans Service Officer Tiffany Daigle to complete accreditation training with the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs.

Art studios in the Northwoods will open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 22, 23 and 24 for the annual Summer North Woods Art Tour. An Illinois man is facing charges after a UTV crash that left several people injured, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department. The crash was reported June 30 on County Hwy. B in the town of Harrison. One person was reportedly trapped underneath the UTV, according to initial reports.

A Tomahawk man is facing charges related to thefts, burglaries and drug activity. According to a release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Zachary Huston, 38, was arrested on Thursday, June 16 following the execution of a search warrant by the Sheriff’s Office, the Central Wisconsin Narcotics Task Force, the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office and the Tomahawk Police Department in the Town of Bradley.

MADISON – A Merrill man this week received a federal prison sentence for producing child pornography. Timothy M. O’Shea, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced on Wednesday, June 29 that Jason D. Ridolfi, 42, of Merrill, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge William M. Conley to 16 ½ years in prison for using a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing child pornography.

MERRILL, Wis. (WSAW) - A 32-year-old man is in the Lincoln Count Jail following a high-speed chase. Investigators said on Sunday, a Merrill Police Officer attempted to make contact with a vehicle for a registration violation. When the officer tried to stop the vehicle the driver ran and then got back into his vehicle and took off. The pursuit continued from the Merrill city limits into the town of Pine River.
