This year, Reserve Deputy Kevin Patrick Kennedy Jr. of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office was added to the Law Enforcement Memorial wall in Grand Island. His daughter, Mary Ellen Kennedy, spoke at Friday’s ceremony. Kennedy died from complications of COVID-19 after contracting it in the line of duty. Kennedy was also honored in Washington, D.C., this week, and his name was added to the National Law Enforcement Memorial.

Sometime between 5 am and 5 pm on February 15th, unknown suspects gained entry into a residence near the 1200 block of E 4th St. Once inside, the suspects removed jewelry and electronics along with other miscellaneous items from the building. Among the stolen items were two Canon Rebel G cameras and a Dell Laptop. The estimated total of the stolen items from the residence was around $3,800.

(KNOP) - The City of North Platte and Keep North Platte and Lincoln County Beautiful wants to encourage a cleaner community by holding cleanup days for households in North Platte May 27 - June 6. Roll-off dumpsters will be placed throughout the City and items will be able to be disposed in the dumpsters free of charge. The bins are offered for in-town residential customers and are not available for any commercial or business use.

According to a press release from the North Platte / Lincoln County Visitors Bureau, the sale price threshold for North Platte speculative single family house construction in the local ‘Shot in the Arm’ housing incentive program has increased to $325,000.
