1 Dead, 5 Injured In Thursday Night Crash

One Warsaw man is dead and five other people were injured after a two-vehicle accident Thursday night. According to a news release from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, deputies and emergency personnel responded at 8:13 p.m. Thursday to a reported personal injury crash on Ind. 25 near CR 100S. When emergency personnel arrived on scene, they found two vehicles involved in the collision – a 1996 Toyota SUV driven by Fidel Vasquez, 49, Warsaw, and a 2017 Ford F-150 truck driven by Andrew Wright, 37, Warsaw.

WHITLEY CO., Ind. (WANE) – A house in Whitley County is badly damaged after a fire early this morning. It started before 2 a.m. at a home in the 8100 block of South 700 East. Claypool Woman Charged With Arson After Monday’s Car Fire, Gun Incident

A Claypool woman was arrested after allegedly setting a car on fire, having drugs in her possession and a three-hour standoff with police. Jodi C. Carter, 44, of 3267 W. Hill Lake Road, Claypool, is charged with arson, a Level 4 felony; and possession of methamphetamine with enhancing circumstances, a Level 5 felony.

Centenarian Delivers Mobile Meals

Long-time Warsaw Rotary Club member Robert “Bob” Gast (L) recently delivered Mobile Meals along with fellow Rotarian John R. Hall (R). Gast turned 100 in 2022 and continues to attend weekly meetings of the club and participates in projects. In the early 1970s, he and his late wife, Marge, were instrumental in the development of Mobile Meals in Warsaw and the surrounding area through Kosciusko Senior Services. Gast is a lifelong resident of Warsaw and previous owner of Gast Fuel and Services Inc. before retirement. Gast is a World War II veteran and Purple Heart recipient. He has served on the Warsaw City Council and on many other capacities in the community, including The Salvation Army and Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church. “Bob Gast is a great representative of the motto of Rotary International, ‘Service Above Self,’” said John Hall as they were getting ready to deliver meals. Bob just smiled and said, “I like to do my part in helping others.”
