Lady Seahawks make playoffs, to face Wewa Thursday

For the fifth time in seven seasons, the Lady Seahawk softball team has advanced to the regional playoffs. The Seahawks had sustained an 8-1 loss to the Liberty County Lady Bulldogs in their May 3 opener in the 1A District 4 tournament. The top-seeded Wewahitchka Gators, after defeating Bopzeman 10-0 in their opener, went on to defeat Liberty County 1-0 in 10 innings May 5 to claim the district title.

Liberty County man charged with making bomb threat against inspection station

A Liberty County man is being charged with calling in a bomb threat against an agricultural inspection station last month. Law enforcement officials with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services charges Charles L. Aikens with making a false bomb threat, a second-degree felony.
