Lady Seahawks make playoffs, to face Wewa Thursday

For the fifth time in seven seasons, the Lady Seahawk softball team has advanced to the regional playoffs. The Seahawks had sustained an 8-1 loss to the Liberty County Lady Bulldogs in their May 3 opener in the 1A District 4 tournament. The top-seeded Wewahitchka Gators, after defeating Bopzeman 10-0 in their opener, went on to defeat Liberty County 1-0 in 10 innings May 5 to claim the district title.

The Wakulla High War Eagles won two of three games this past week to improve to 13-7 on the year so far. The War Eagles traveled to North Florida Christian in Tallahassee on Tuesday, April 19. Liberty County man charged with making bomb threat against inspection station

A Liberty County man is being charged with calling in a bomb threat against an agricultural inspection station last month. Law enforcement officials with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services charges Charles L. Aikens with making a false bomb threat, a second-degree felony. Aikens was charged while being held in the Wakulla County Jail on unrelated charges of having his bond revoked from a January 2021 case.
