'Conn's x Belk' Store-Within-Store Pilots in 5 Locations

The first store-within-a-store pilot locations from a partnership between Belk and Conn’s have opened in five Belk locations, a press release said. Called Conn’s x Belk, the locations will give Belk customers access to Conn’s home product categories and other things like next-day deliveries. The five locations include: Knoxville, Tennessee; Raleigh, North Carolina; Charlotte, North Carolina; Ridgeland, Mississippi; Charleston, South Carolina.

East Tennessee facility asks community to help adopt rescued beagles

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — It is a story that has made national headlines, the Humane Society of the United States shut down a massive breeding operation in Virginia. Thousands of dogs were removed from the facility that bred dogs to be sold to laboratories for animal experimentation. The facility received multiple violations over the years. Now those dogs are getting a new chance at life.

Wartburg man sentenced to 60 days for fatal drag racing crash

KINGSTON, Tenn. (WATE) — A Wartburg man has been sentenced for several charges connected to a May 2019 fatal crash that began with a drag race. Holden Jeffrey Melton, 21, was sentenced to 60 days in jail and four years on supervised probation. He will also lose his license for three years, pay a $500 fine and complete 200 hours of community service.

Richy Kreme Donuts 2 opens in Rocky Hill

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The new Richy Kreme Donuts opened over a week after the announcement of expanding the business to Knoxville. The owners announced in July that they were expanding the business to Rocky Hill after being in Maryville for 74 years. The company was founded by Marion Richardson, and the new owners purchased the company in 2021 to “return it to its previous glory days of quality donuts, with a focus on community.”
