A Public Health Order in Lenawee County, which required employee health screening at businesses in the county, has been rescinded. While screening employees for symptoms of COVID-19 and any known close contact to a COVID-19 positive individual is no longer required, it is still critical that employers do not allow individuals to work when they are sick or if they have been in close contact with a COVID-19 positive individual.

Why didn’t the tornado sirens go off in Riga prior to the confirmed EF-1 touched down Sunday night?. Lenawee County Emergency Management Coordinator Craig Tanis told WLEN News that the tornado did not show on the NWS radar, therefore no warning was issues so no sirens were activated.

Boat Collides with Canoe on Silver Lake, Causing Minimal Damage

Lenawee County, MI – Two girls jumped out of the canoe they were fishing from when a fiberglass boat bumped into them on Silver Lake this weekend. Confirmed tornado damages multiple homes in Riga

RIGA, Mich. (WTVG) - The National Weather Service confirms that the severe weather in Lenawee County Sunday night, into Monday morning, was caused by an EF-1 tornado. NWS said Monday that the tornado touched down around 9:23 p.m. and traveled almost three miles in a four minute period, damaging five homes, multiple other buildings, as well as uprooting trees and knocking down power lines.

Thunderstorms produce power loss, downed trees, property damage throughout Lenawee County

Heavy winds and thunderstorms raged through Lenawee County Saturday and Sunday nights, causing widespread power outages, fallen trees and some property damage. There were also reports of a tornado or funnel cloud seen in the area of Cemetery Road in Riga Township heading east toward Monroe County during Sunday's storm, but the National Weather Services has yet to confirm those reports.
