Sedalia Police Reports for September 21, 2021

This article is compiled from the Sedalia Police Department reports. Monday night, Officers took a report in the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a theft. The victim stated that various jewelry and other items were stolen from her residence in the 500 block of North Missouri Avenue. The value of the stolen items was estimated at $6,322. A suspect has been identified, but has not been contacted at this time.

Missouri Woman Convicted of Killing Husband in 2012

WARSAW, Mo. (AP) — A western Missouri woman who spent nearly seven years behind bars awaiting trial for the 2012 shooting death of her husband has been found guilty. A Clay County jury on Monday convicted Viola Bowman, 60, of first-degree murder in the killing of 53-year-old Albert “Rusty” Bowman in their Kansas City home on Nov. 7, 2012, the Kansas City Star reported.

Sedalia Police Reports For September 20, 2021

This article is compiled from the Sedalia Police Department reports. Early Monday morning, Officers observed a male subject riding his bicycle with no lights or reflectors. When Officers made contact with the male and identified him, his information was ran through Dispatch. Dispatch advised he had a Pettis County Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Fraudulent Use of Debit or Credit Device with a bond of $250. After speaking with the subject, he allowed Officers to search the property he had with him. After searching the property, Officers located several items of drug paraphernalia. Edward D. Miller, 58, of Sedalia, was arrested for his warrant, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Miller was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24 hour hold.

Sedalia Woman Injured at 50 & 127

A Sedalia woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred early Saturday morning in Pettis County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2007 Dodge, driven by 76-year-old Alice M. Schultz of Sedalia, was at US 50 & Route 127 at 2:45 a.m., when she pulled into the path of a westbound 2018 Ford F-150 towing a trailer, driven by 64-year-old Kevin T. Carpenter of Blue Springs.
