Local Lynching Memorial Perseveres Despite Backlash

While some people in Kansas City work to acknowledge our collective past, others have been rising up to erase it. The Black Archives of Mid-America in Kansas City is collaborating with the Equal Justice Initiative to collect jars of soil from the site of every lynching in Missouri. The jars are being displayed in the Black Archives as a part of the Community Remembrance Project.

Free waste Drop-Off this Saturday in south KC

Household hazardous waste may be dropped off free by KCMO residents from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 31, at the south parking lot of Ruskin High School, 7000 E. 111th St. Items that will be accepted include automotive products, batteries, CFL light bulbs, flammables, household cleaners, lawn & garden products, paint and used oil.
