Sara Beth Myers left her job as an assistant United States attorney on Nov. 19 to prepare to run for a new position. The career prosecutor is looking to unseat incumbent Davidson County District Attorney Glenn Funk, who is running for reelection as he nears the end of his first eight-year term in 2022.

Wrestling: Nolensville edges Page in home opener

NOLENSVILLE – Zach Sinner admitted Tuesday night that he’s still simply trying to get back into wrestling shape. The Nolensville High School junior, who placed fourth at the state tournament a year ago, managed to pin Page freshman Ethan Ward in the 195-pound weight class late in the first round as the Knights secured a 41-36 victory over the Patriots in a tri-match Tuesday. Nolensville also picked up a 63-10 win over Dickson County.

Hendersonville development plan Nearwater Place seeks high-end townhomes instead of car lot

A plan to build 49 upscale townhome units in Hendersonville is being offered on property where there is also interest in building a car lot, according to the landowner. Nearwater Place is the working name of the development on just over six acres at 1090 W. Main Street. The site is on the northeast corner of West Main and the State Route 386 interchange.

Pow Wow organizer Cindy Yahola resumes toy drive

Cindy Yahola is resuming her Christmas toy drive for members of her Native American ancestry tribe based in Oklahoma. Yahola, the organizer of the Wilco Pow Wow, is a member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation. For eight years, she held a toy and item drive for the Sapulpa Creek Indian Community in Oklahoma. Last year the event was cancelled due to the pandemic.

Rutherford Arts Alliance (RAA) recently presented their first “Theater Crawl” at Oaklands Mansion featuring a number of new and old theater groups in Rutherford County. During the evening, there were performances by Murfreesboro Little Theatre, Consider This Theater Company, Bravo Boro, Acteeng Theatre Group, BoroTellers Hague, Ghost Light Studio, Candace Corrigan, and Count Drahoon’s Feature of Fright.
