But wildlife biologist Johnny Wills with the Nantahala Ranger District said despite increased activity, early autumn is not a time of year where they see negative human-bear interactions around campgrounds, picnic areas, trails and elsewhere.

La Vida Loca LLC held its grand opening on Sept. 6 with the dream of bringing authentic Mexican street snacks, called antojitos, to Western North Carolina.
