LaSalle County Sheriff's Deputies earlier this week arrested 27 year old Jeremy A. Gossett, of Ottawa. The arrest warrant was for unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. Gossett was found by LaSalle police and allegedly in possession of over fifteen grams of cocaine on February 6. He was released pending labs.

Another person from La Salle County has died as a result of COVID-19. The latest victim was a woman in her 80s. According to the La Salle County Health Department, from May 13 to May 20, the county added 332 more cases of the virus, bringing the total number to just shy of 30,000 since the start of the pandemic.

LASALLE – A LaSalle man is in custody after a TRI-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team investigation into cocaine distribution. On Tuesday night, LaSalle County Sheriffs Deputies arrested 27-year-old Jeremy A. Gossett of LaSalle on a warrant for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver and Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance. In February, LaSalle Police allegedly found Gossett in possession of more than fifteen grams of a substance containing purported cocaine. During a separate investigation, conducted by TRI-Dent, they say Gossett allegedly delivered approximately five grams of a substance containing purported cocaine to agents. He was taken to the LaSalle County Jail and is being held on a $1,000,000 bond.

OTTAWA – An Ottawa man is facing a Class X Felony for LSD distribution after an investigation by the TRI-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team. On Monday Ottawa Police took 25-year-old Peter G. Tomaras into custody on a warrant for alleged delivery of purported LSD to TRI-Dent Agents. He was taken to the LaSalle County Jail and is being held on a $750,000 bond. TRI-Dent consists of LaSalle, Streator, Princeton, Oglesby, Mendota, Spring Valley and Ottawa Police Departments along with LaSalle, Bureau and Putnam County Sheriff’s Offices.

LASALLE – A bicyclist has been struck in LaSalle in what authorities are describing as a hit and run. The LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office say they were called on Sunday to Illinois Route 351 near the canal entrance south of LaSalle, where a bicyclist reported being struck. Witnesses described the vehicle as a large, white SUV with a yellow temporary registration plate. The Sheriff’s Office notes the vehicle may be missing its passenger side mirror.
