Aircraft Loses Landing Gear in “Hard Landing” at CWRA, No injuries

Riverton Airport Division Manager Paul Griffin reported a student pilot had a hard landing in Mooney Aircraft at 4:04 p.m. Friday at Central Wyoming Regional Airport. “The landing knocked the front wheel off and collapsed the other landing gear,” he said. “The aircraft skidded off the runway sideways and back on just a bit before stopping, no landing lights were damaged and there was no damage to the runway.”

RPD Searching for Dog Involved in Attack on a Pedestrian

The Riverton Police Department is in search of the owner of a tan and white medium size pit bull involved in a brutal attack on a pedestrian on the bike path south of the Center of home on Thanksgiving eve. The incident took place between 8:30 and 9 a.m. The dog was with two young Caucasian males who headed north with the dog. If anyone has video surveillance in the area, please check. the RPD is in desperate need to verify the dog’s vaccination status.

Riverton Museum’s “Hot” Exhibits to be Cooler This Coming Year

The main gallery of the Riverton collection is in the nave of the former Methodist Church, which was completed in 1917. The Riverton Museum has occupied the building since 1970, and a new air conditioning system was just never in the budget. High ceilings, old insulation, and fixed windows which face south all contributed to a sauna-like atmosphere in the building. Learning to Slow Down in the Winds

I’m always open to learning new skills or trying a new activity, but the one thing I didn’t know how to do, and couldn’t seem to figure out, was how to slow down in the mountains. I’ve been getting outside since I was a cub scout, and currently work as a guide for my university’s outdoor recreation coordinator as well as running office logistics. On any given day, you can probably find me climbing, biking, skiing, or trail running, or preferably, some combination of those activities.
