Bismarck, ND (KXNET) — The National Weather Service in Grand Forks has issued a Tornado Warning in Stutsman and LaMoure County until 4:00 p.m. CDT. The NWS is reporting that at 3:29 p.m. a confirmed tornado was located near Marion, or 25 miles SW of Valley City moving NW at 45 mph.

South Dakota Kidnapping Suspect Arrested in LaMoure County

LAMOURE, N.D. ( – A man was taken into custody after local authorities were made aware of an abduction in Brown County, South Dakota. North Dakota Highway Patrol Sgt. Ben Kennelly reports that a 41 year-old female was taken from her mother’s residence in South Dakota by 35 year-old Ryan Degroat.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 28th at Faith Lutheran Church in Valley City. No Injuries in Friday LaMoure County Crash

EDGELEY, N.D. ( – The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports there were no injuries in a LaMoure County crash that occurred Friday, October 8th. The state patrol says a Ford was traveling eastbound on Highway 13 at approximately 45 mph. A Chevrolet was traveling southbound on Highway 281 when the Ford went through the marked intersection at Highway 13 and Highway 281.

LaMoure County flag returned to its home

Officials with the LaMoure County Museum are hoping to add the third of three county flags sewn more than 60 years ago to the museum's collection. The museum accepted the second flag last week as a donation from the family of Eric Garber, who owned land in LaMoure County as a bridge to the rural life in North Dakota. He acquired the flag at an auction or estate sale sometime around 2000, according to Lynn Rust, his wife.
