At least 40 new jobs will be created following construction of a major new convenience store in Lamesa that will include two eating establishments. Amarillo-based Toot’n Totum announced plans Tuesday for a new store in Lamesa on what is now vacant land at the northeast corner of N. 22nd Street and Lubbock Highway.

Dog Park Improvements Underway

Thanks to the generosity of neighbors and business owners, the North Loop dog park is getting even more upgrades than expected. The North Loop Neighborhood Association started a GoFundMe campaign this summer in hopes of raising $5,000 which the NLNA would match with another $5,000. All that money is going to replace the rock surface which some dogs found to be a little sharp on their paws.

New Lubbock Food Truck Sweet Loop Boasts One of the City’s Rarest Treats

Sweet Loop is a locally-owned food truck that handcrafts Churro Loops and serves it with ice cream. Their churros are made fresh using a traditional Mexico City-style recipe and then shaped into a loop, hence the name. It starts with the base, whatever flavor ice cream you want, like vanilla, chocolate or strawberry and then they top it with hand made syrups and flavored Mexican creams. They even have little extras such as Andes Mint Chocolates, Fererro Rocher Truffles, and even Fruity Pebbles. The best part? It's topped with a homemade churros loop.
