McHenry man wanted for shooting at victim during armed robbery taken into custody

A McHenry man was arrested last week after being charged with shooting at a victim during an armed robbery last year. Dominic Z. Trujillo, 18, of the 1200 block of Charles Street in McHenry, was charged with two counts of armed robbery, aggravated discharge of a firearm, two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Prep football: Burlington rushes for 420 yards in easy victory over Badger

Pleasant Prairie police car hit, officer taken to hospital

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. - A Pleasant Prairie police officer was taken to the hospital after their squad car was hit by a pickup truck on Friday afternoon, Sept. 24. Police said the officer was responding to a non-emergency service call on Sheridan Road just north of the state line when the crash happened. Both vehicles were headed southbound at the time.

Whitewater resident Caryl Yasko was recently commissioned to restore the bicentennial mural “The Stonecutters” which she painted in the Village of Lemont, Illinois in 1975. Per the village Facebook page, “After week one of the restoration, the colors are starting to POP! Caryl Yasko and team, Harrison Halaska and Ingrid Kallick are working on the mural most weekdays beginning in early afternoon. Rob Moriarty joins them early evenings, and they all work on the mural as long as daylight allows. Stop by and watch them restore this beautiful mural on the Digs on Canal building at 316 Canal Street in Budnik Plaza – don’t be shy – go right on up to the front of the mural and watch them at work.
