MILLBURY — Luke Hickey has been named the new head Lake High School boys basketball coach. Hickey is a graduate of Whitmer High School and was Division 1 Basketball State Runner-Up in 2012. He was a four-year starter in baseball at Bluffton University, earning all conference honors each year.

Testimony ends in opioid trial; Lake, Trumbull counties seek millions of dollars from pharmacy chains
CLEVELAND, Ohio — A federal judge in Cleveland will soon decide how much three pharmacy giants must pay Lake and Trumbull counties for their role in the opioid epidemic. Testimony in the five-day trial in U.S. District Judge Dan Polster’s courtroom ended Tuesday. Attorneys did not give closing arguments, and they will instead file briefs to Polster before he makes his decision.

As we walked into Classic Park, my 20-year-old nephew, Colin, asked me this question, not knowing that the pitch clock was the reason I had come to see the High-A Lake County Captains (a Guardians affiliate) play the Great Lakes Loons (Dodgers) on a beautiful spring night. But in inviting Colin to tag along with me, I knew I’d be getting perspective on the clock from a member of a generation it targets.
