Decatur Man Sentenced To Prison For Injuring Child

A Decatur man is receiving a 12 year prison sentence for seriously injuring a baby. Christopher Pulliam was sentenced after pleading guilty to two counts of aggravated battery to a child. Pulliam was arrested last December after security camera video showed him hitting the infant in the head on multiple occasions.

Decatur child rapist gets 44-year sentence

DECATUR — A Decatur sex predator whose crimes a judge said “shocks the court’s conscience” was sentenced to 44 years in prison Wednesday. Child rapist Jesus Z. Domini, 29, had appeared in Macon County Circuit Court and pleaded guilty to two counts of the predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and a charge of criminal sexual assault. The sentence must be served at 85%.

$22.7 Million Announced in Federal Transit Grants for Decatur, Springfield

August 10, 2022 – U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis (IL-13) announced that Decatur and Springfield have received a combined $22.7M in federal grant funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Transit Administration (FTA). The funding comes through the Low-No Grant Program and Grants for Buses and Bus Facilities Competitive Program. The Decatur Public Transit System will receive $16,840,000 and the Sangamon Mass Transit District will receive $5,927,788.
