Man rescued from Beaver Creek in Sparta by Good Samaritan

SPARTA, Wis. (WEAU) - A woman who stopped to help save a man who had fallen in Beaver Creek in Sparta is being hailed for her actions. According to the Sparta Police Department, a man fell from his mobility assistance device and into the water running through Evans-Bosshard Park Friday. A woman was biking in the area when she stopped to help the man, holding onto him. Police responded shortly before 8:00 p.m. and helped bring the man out of the water.

Winona, MN (KROC-AM News) - A 21-year-old Winona woman was injured yesterday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Winona. RICHMOND TWP., Minn. (KWNO)-A Winona woman was hospitalized following a single-vehicle rollover crash Friday evening. The state patrol says 20-year-old Lydia R. Bailey was traveling south on Hwy. 61 near Twin Bluffs Dr. when she went off the road. Authorities say Bailey then went into the median and crossed the southbound lanes before rolling in the southbound ditch.

TOWN OF FRANKLIN, Wis. (WEAU) - One person is hurt after a crash involving a motorcycle and delivery truck in Vernon County on Saturday. 45-year-old Billy Pishaw of La Crosse was injured after his motorcycle crashed into an oncoming delivery truck that turned into his lane. The crash occurred Saturday at 3 p.m. on Highway 27/Highway 82 north of Hornby Hollow Road, or about five miles south of Viroqua, according to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office.

La Crosse motorcyclist injured in two-vehicle crash

A La Crosse man was injured in a motorcycle versus delivery truck crash on State Hwy. 27 at the south edge of Liberty Pole in the town of Franklin on Saturday. At 3 p.m., the Vernon County Sheriff's Office was notified of the accident. A delivery truck operated by Randy D. Jacobson, 21, of La Crosse, was traveling northbound and was starting to make a left turn into a driveway. Jacobson did not see two motorcycles that were approaching in the southbound lane. The first motorcycle swerved around Jacobson's truck, but the second motorcycle, operated by Billy J.B. Pishaw, 45, of La Crosse, struck the front driver's corner of Jacobson's vehicle. Pishaw sustained significant injuries and was transported to Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua by Tri State Ambulance.
