AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department is asking the community for help finding the driver of an SUV that could have been involved in a fatal crash on June 25. On June 25, at approximately 11:44 p.m., police responded to the scene of a crash in the 8100 block of South Interstate 35's northbound service road. A male pedestrian was killed in the crash, and the vehicle that hit him did not stay at the scene.

Man arrested for string of nine robberies, APD reports

AUSTIN, Texas — Police arrested a man they believed to be involved in nine armed robberies occurring from Saturday, June 25, to Sunday, June 26. According to the Austin Police Department, Alexander Jordan, 26, allegedly committed three robberies on Saturday and six robberies on Sunday. Eight of the robberies were within APD's jurisdiction, while one was within the Travis County Sheriff's Office's jurisdiction.

Kyle man arrested, charged with death of 7-month-old infant

KYLE, Texas — The Kyle Police Department arrested a man on Tuesday in connection with a Thursday infant death. The 7-month-old's mother brought the child to Ascension Seton Hays Hospital, where she was then transferred to Dell Children's Medical Center and treated for life-threatening injuries sustained at home. Police reported to Dell Children's on Monday, June 20, and began an investigation into the injuries.

More Austin pools to open for July Fourth weekend

AUSTIN, Texas — Martin Pool, Dottie Jordan Pool and others will open for the July Fourth weekend, the Austin Parks and Recreation Department announced on Wednesday.
