Bus Buddies is a partnership between volunteers and Klein ISD to provide assistance to elementary students to help them get off the bus at the correct location. The program requires one “Bus Buddy” per elementary bus the first three days of school (August 10-12, 2022). The approximate time commitment is from 2:45 – 5:00 p.m.

Dr. Jenny McGown, superintendent of Klein Independent School District, has been named the 2022 Region 4 Superintendent of the Year. In March 2022, the Klein ISD Board of Trustees unanimously voted to nominate Dr. McGown for this honor. The TASB Regional Selection Committee, comprised of board members from districts within Region 4, selected Dr. McGown from the nearly 50 public school districts they serve. Beginning June 6th, Klein ISD is pleased to provide free healthy summer meals to all children 18 and younger and enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old. The meals, which are being distributed at 28 sites across the District, are being provided at no cost to Klein ISD through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), a U.S. Department of Agriculture nutrition program administered in the Lone Star State by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
