OSBI still looking for answers on anniversary of 2003 southwest Oklahoma murder

LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - Eighteen years ago, the body of a woman was found in a Kiowa County Creek and her killer was never caught. On June 5, 2003 farm workers found 34-year-old Pamela Woodring’s body naked in a creek. The OSBI says Woodring was a known prostitute in the Lawton area and the circumstances surrounding her death still remain a mystery.

Fort Sill soldier dies in Kiowa County

KIOWA COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) – For Sill officials confirmed that a soldier died on Wednesday. Kiowa County Sheriff’s Office officials found U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 4 Christopher L. Savidge, a 40-year-old Field Artillery Targeting Technician assigned to the Fires Center of Excellence, unresponsive on Wednesday, May 5, according to a Fires Center of Excellence news release.

5-year-old girl, dog who stayed by her side die in house fire in western Oklahoma, officials say

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Oklahoma (KOCO) — A 5-year-old girl and her dog who stayed by her side died in an early morning house fire Wednesday in western Oklahoma. Shortly after 4:45 a.m. Wednesday, a fire sparked at a two-story home in the 300 block of South Third Street in Mountain View, Oklahoma, which is in Kiowa County. A news release states that seven people — two adults and five juveniles — and the family dog were inside the home.
