Car thief hits several cars and buildings in stolen van

POUGHKEEPSIE – A 22-year-old Poughkeepsie resident has been charged with felony grand larceny after an incident on North Clinton Street in the City of Poughkeepsie. On November 26, city police responded to pre-dawn reports of a man in the parking lot of the apartment complex crashing into vehicles and hitting at least two of the buildings. After speaking with witnesses at the scene, they determined that Alvarez Maximilliano had stolen a van belonging to one of the residents and attempted to leave the area. He crashed into at least four other vehicles and struck two separate apartment buildings.
