George Patrick Ford Sr., 84, of Rye, passed away on May 19, 2022 with his family by his side. Born in the Bronx, NY on February 1, 1938, he was the son of John J. Ford and Susan Becher. He attended Evander Childs High School, served in the Army and then went on to work at Consolidated Edison for 36-years in the underground cable division. During his retirement years he often held office hours at Starbucks on Purchase Street in Rye.

A Westchester woman who was known for her work at Ground Zero with the Red Cross and for singing the National Anthem at Major League Baseball games has died. Marie Menna-Doescher, age 61, of Eastchester, died on Tuesday, May 17, after earlier surviving a 9/11 linked cancer relating to her volunteer work for the Red Cross at Ground Zero, according to her obituary.

Theresa (Doherty) Gifford was born on July 14, 1950, in Floral Park, New York to Charles and Theresa Doherty, who preceded her in death. She has one sibling, William Doherty (Kathy Doherty) and two nephews, William Jr., and Kevin. She and her husband, Paul Gifford, have one daughter, Patricia (Gifford) Tempesta (Robert Tempesta) and three grandchildren, Jonathan, Robert, and Victoria.

Ann Kriskey, of Greenwich, passed away May 18, 2022, at age 90. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, on April 13, 1932 to Robert & Agnes Pirrie, Ann had a desire for travel which took her to the US in 1953. Her love for babies and children created an opportunity to come to the US as a nanny as the first stop in her plan to travel around the world. But life had other plans for her and she settled in Greenwich to raise her own family.

A Westchester County resident and longtime owner of a successful local business has died at the age of 75. Michael DiGuglielmo Sr., of Bedford, died unexpectedly on Friday, May 13, according to his obituary. He was born in Italy and immigrated to the United States in 1955, his obituary said.

Alan J. Sofia of Rye, NY passed away peacefully on May 15, 2022 after a short illness. Mr. Sofia, born May 6, 1929 to the late Theodore C. Sofia and his wife, Pauline was raised in Scarsdale, NY. He attended and graduated from both New York Military Academy and Fordham University. Post graduation, he was commissioned by the United States Army to serve in the Korean War as Second Lieutenant in charge of Overseas Transport Operations. After being decommissioned in 1954, he was accepted to Cornell Law School where he attended until his father’s sudden death in 1955.

Longtime Lynbrook resident Gerard O'Connor dies at 92

Longtime Lynbrook resident Gerard O'Connor died on May 12, 2022, after a battle with cancer. He was 92. O’Connor was born and raised in Brooklyn, attended St. Augustine Diocesan High School and was the original member of the Brooklyn Cadets baseball team. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1952 during the Korean War, and spent a year in the New York Air National Guard in 1953.

John J. Donahoe, a lifelong resident of Pelham, New York, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2022. He was 89 years old. He was born on February 13, 1933, to the late John and Catherine Donahoe in New York City. John was an only child. John attended Siwanoy Elementary School and Pelham Memorial High School, where he ran track and played football. He graduated in 1950. Following high school graduation, John attended Cornell University, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Hotel Administration in 1954.
