5 caught in Friday afternoon shooting

Body At press time, five people were in custody and one was in the hospital after shots were fired near T.H. Johnson Drive and Main Street. According to Taylor Police Chief Henry Fluck, officers received a call just after 2 p.m. for shots fired. The call came in from an off-duty game warden who saw the shooting.

The Killeen Police Department responded to an Aggravated Robbery Thursday night at the Star Mart at 3603 Zephyr Road. It was reported a man entered the business, brought out a handgun and demanded money. The suspect then fled the business on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

Woman in custody, police officer injured after Killeen chase

Police cars spilled out into the street behind a cul-de-sac after a high-speed chase led officers throughout Killeen Thursday. One woman was seen detained on the scene and a police officer had suffered a leg injury after a suspect led police through Florence Road, Elms Road, and Fort Hood Street. The chase ended along Pilar Spur in north Killeen around 4:30 p.m.

Woman charged in crash with motorcycle resulting in amputation

A 27-year-old Temple woman is being held on multiple charges in connection with a crash with a motorcycle that resulted in the amputation of the motorcycle rider’s leg. Destinee Breann Lomeli was booked into the Bell County Jail Wednesday evening on charges of intoxication assault with a vehicle resulting in serious bodily injury and driving while intoxicated with a child under the age of fifteen.
