HOUSTON — The man who has helped answer the prayers of hundreds of families with missing loved ones needs some prayers himself, according to Texas EquuSearch. EquuSearch founder Tim Miller was admitted to the hospital on Saturday, June 19, "due to a serious health condition that required immediate attention," the group posted on its Facebook page. Gov. Abbott vetoes criminal justice bills, legislation to protect dogs and to teach kids about domestic, dating violence

AUSTIN, Texas — Gov. Greg Abbott vetoed 20 bills that were passed during this year’s legislative session. They include two criminal justice priorities of the House speaker, legislation that would have banned tethering dogs outside with heavy chains, and a bill that would have required students to be taught about the dangers of domestic and dating violence.

HPD investigating fatal crash along the Eastex Freeway

HOUSTON — A fatal crash had several lanes closed along the Eastex Freeway heading outbound Tuesday afternoon. Houston police said this happened just before 11 a.m. just before Kingwood Drive in Montgomery County. Houston Transtar reported that three frontage road lanes were closed but have reopened just after 4 p.m.
