Rapid City woman arrested for DUI, other charges, after crash

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rapid City Police arrested a woman for DUI following a Tuesday crash. When they arrived at the scene of the crash, officers learned from witnesses that a pickup truck was southbound on Lacrosse Street in front of a passenger vehicle, which was traveling at a high rate of speed. The passenger vehicle collided with the rear-end of the pickup truck and both vehicles came to a stop after the crash.

Car crash: Woman with two children attempted to flee the scene

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - A woman involved in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon attempted to flee the scene with two children. Angelita Rich, 36, was identified as the suspect and arrested on several charges. A preliminary breath test administered to Rich registered at .229 (nearly three times the legal limit to drive). She was charged with driving under the influence, vehicular battery, hit and run with Injuries, reckless driving, driving under suspension, no proof of insurance, and two warrants.

Black Hills and Badlands Tourism’s Motorcycle Maps a great resource for riders of all levels

RAPID CITY, S.D. – With hundreds of thousands of people here for the Rally, one tourism group is working to make sure riders of all levels can enjoy the scenery. In honor of the 75th anniversary of the Rally back in 2015, Black Hills and Badlands decided to release a special map with roads for motorcyclists to ride in the region. Together with the Black Hills chapter of A.B.A.T.E, they were able to create a series of tear-off maps with suggested routes for riders of all skill level. To make it easy to understand, the roads are color-coded based on easiest to the most difficult: black, blue, red, orange, and yellow.
