WVU PSC, WVUP Co-Host Statewide Spud Summit to Boost Mister Bee Potato Chips, Farmers

KEYSER, WV (LOOTPRESS) – West Virginia University Potomac State College Interim President Chris Gilmer is set to finish what he started when he was at the helm of West Virginia University at Parkersburg. He forged a relationship with WVUPAlumna Mary Anne Ketelsen, president of Mister Bee Potato Chips, a woman-owned business and a West Virginia institution. Gilmer set out to prove that chip potatoes could be grown in the state which was successfully proven on WVU Parkersburg’s 20-acre Riverhawk Farm.

Keyser, Fairmont Senior advance to WVSSAC State Golf Tournament

EVERSON, W.Va. — Keyser and Fairmont Senior qualified for next week’s WVSSAC Class AA State Golf Tournament through Monday’s Region I Championship at Green Hills County Club. The top two teams and the top two individuals not on qualifying teams advanced to the state competition at Wheeling’s Ogelbay Resort.

Seacoast, NH Man Dies in Maryland Motorcycle Crash

A Stratham man was killed following a crash while riding his motorcycle near the Maryland-West Virginia border Wednesday afternoon. Maryland State Police said that Ronald Roberts, 71, was riding northbound on Route 51 in Allegany County and was involved in a crash around 3 p.m. The circumstances of the crash were not disclosed. The crash remains under investigation.

Proposed Elementary Social Studies Curriculum Available for Review

Parents/guardians of GCPS students can review and make comments regarding the proposed curriculum for elementary Social Studies, “myWorld Interactive Social Studies.” The material is available for review beginning September 21 until Thursday, October 6, 2022. Materials may be viewed at Grantsville Elementary (currently in the Northern Middle School building) and the Ruth Enlow Library in Oakland.
